SIRIM QAS has been designated by the Royal Customs of Malaysia to handle the processing and approval of import permits for communications, multimedia, and hybrid equipment, ensuring adherence to the mandatory requirements outlined in the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588) and the Communication and Multimedia (Technical Standards) Regulations 2000 (P.U.(A) 124/2000)
These regulations set out mandatory requirements and technical standards that such equipment must meet to be legally imported and used in Malaysia.
